A wild American persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) selection from Chuluota, Florida that has shown itself to be tasty, productive and consistent bearing

Fruit size is mostly around 1.5 inches

Each fruit has 2-5 seeds, although occasional seedless fruit has been noted

Like all American persimmons, must be soft and mushy before eating

Grafted tree grown on American persimmon seedling rootstock

Mature size can be 20ft wide x 30ft tall. Can be kept smaller with annual pruning

First propagated in 2022 and trials are underway to assess how this cultivar will perform in new locations. 

Will perform best where other wild persimmons are located as native persimmons require pollination for good fruit set

You may notice we grow our persimmon trees in tall pots. This is due to the reality that persimmon trees have taproots which are damaged when grown in pots that are too shallow.

Tall pots foster healthy root growth so that you get a tree that grows vigorously!
